For puppies 9-13 weeks of age

The first class is a lecture without the puppy to give owners a strong foundation of effective techniques for introducing a new puppy to their environment. You will understand the developmental stages that will affect your puppy’s behaviour over the next few weeks as it approaches adolescence.

Off-leash play sessions will teach the appropriate way to meet and greet humans and other puppies and increase good social behaviour.

Introduce our famous ‘Gentle’ cue to interrupt normal puppy biting behaviour and teach respect for human space.

Visual cues for Sit, Down.

Encouraging good leash manners while strengthening the natural desire to return to the owner.

For puppies 13-17 weeks of age

We continue to strengthen good social behaviour with other puppies and humans.

Puppies are exposed to a variety of objects/textures/situations to build confidence and focus.

Visual cues for Sit, Down and Stand. Introduce ‘Stay’.

Good leash manners and respect for personal space are emphasized along with Recall from play.

Dogs enrolling in this segment must have completed PUPPY JUMP START AND/OR PUPPY MANNERS.

All other dogs over 17 weeks of age will be enrolled in the FAMILY PET 1 OR 2.

Dogs are adolescents at 17 weeks. Their behaviour and play styles change, sometimes dramatically. We give effective techniques to help you and your dog adapt to this challenging period of their life.

We continue to reinforce all the appropriate good manners with off-leash play and leash walking skills and increasing reliability in Sit and Down Stay and reliable Recalls.

For dogs up to 17 weeks

The class is designed to provide opportunity for puppies to develop good social behaviour with other dogs and people using the optimum window of their social development. All members of the family are encouraged to participate in the classes. Training techniques are family and dog friendly to enhance the building of strong relationships between your dog and the family.

Training includes:

  • Effective house manners, including crate and potty training;
  • meeting and greeting guests;
  • interaction with children, adults and other dogs;
  • good bite inhibition and basic obedience cues.
