Canadian Canine Good Citizen (six week course)

$158.99 + HST

Prerequisite: Dogs should have completed Basic and be able hold a sit for approximately 30 seconds.

This class will further the skills of your dog on the road to being considered well-mannered by your friends and neighbours.

CCGC is a designation bestowed by the Responsible Dog Owners of Canada to a dog after successfully completing a set of 10 tasks. This class will help you develop and practice these skills regardless of your desire to participate in the testing process.

The skills your dog will develop in this class include:

  • polite behaviour when strangers approach
  • calm behaviour when being handled by a stranger (Eg: your vet)
  • walking politely in different scenarios
  • staying calm when left with a stranger

*It is normal for dogs to have some level of excitement during the first class, this may result in barking, inability to concentrate and some sensitivity to encroachment in personal space.
If your dog demonstrates excessive behaviour in any of these categories we will transfer you to a class designed specifically to address these issues.
