PUPPY JUMP START (4 WEEKS) $118.99

For puppies 9-13 weeks of age

The first class is a lecture without the puppy to give owners a strong foundation of effective techniques for introducing a new puppy to their environment. You will understand the developmental stages that will affect your puppy’s behaviour over the next few weeks as it approaches adolescence. 

Off-leash play sessions will teach the appropriate way to meet and greet humans and other puppies and increase good social behaviour.

Introduce our famous ‘Gentle’ cue to interrupt normal puppy biting behaviour and teach respect for human space.

Visual cues for Sit, Down.

Encouraging good leash manners while strengthening the natural desire to return to the owner.

We recommend that your puppy have their second set of vaccines (first booster), or your veterinarian's approval to attend class.

PUPPY MANNERS (4 WEEKS) $118.99

For puppies 13-17 weeks of age

We continue to strengthen good social behaviour with other puppies and humans.

Puppies are exposed to a variety of objects/textures/situations to build confidence and focus.

Visual cues for Sit, Down and Stand. Introduce ‘Stay’.

Good leash manners and respect for personal space are emphasized along with Recall from play.

We recommend that your puppy have their second set of vaccines (first booster), or your veterinarian's approval to attend class.

IT'S A TEENAGER (4 WEEKS) $118.99

(dogs 17- 20 weeks of age)

Dogs enrolling in this segment must have completed PUPPY JUMP START AND/OR PUPPY MANNERS.

All other dogs over 17 weeks of age will be enrolled in the FAMILY PET 1 OR 2.

Dogs are adolescents at 17 weeks. Their behaviour and play styles change, sometimes dramatically. We give effective techniques to help you and your dog adapt to this challenging period of their life.

We continue to reinforce all the appropriate good manners with off-leash play and leash walking skills and increasing reliability in Sit and Down Stay and reliable Recalls.

*It is normal for dogs to have some level of excitement during the first class, this may result in barking, inability to concentrate and some sensitivity to encroachment in personal space. If your dog demonstrates excessive behaviour in any of these categories we will transfer you to a class designed specifically to address these issues.

Family Pet LEVEL 1 (6 Weeks) $158.99

For dogs not eligible for the Puppy Programme or without previous formal training.

The six week programme will provide a reliable response to basic obedience cues and life skills that enable appropriate social interaction with humans and other dogs:

  • Body Position Cues: Sit, Down and Stand
  • Voluntary Eye Contact to improve focus
  • Reliable Recall
  • Enjoyable Leash Walking
  • Greeting skills inside and outside the home with other dogs and people
  • Increasing tolerance for handling by family and strangers

Where possible, some off-leash play may be included to allow for continued social development. Experienced instructors will present effective techniques to ensure success with the training material.

Family Pet LEVEL 2 (6 Weeks) $158.99

Pre-requisite - successful completion of Family Pet Level 1 or equivalent

This six week programme will emphasize increased reliability and precision of all basic obedience cues from Family Pet Training 1. Additional Body Position cues of Swing, Place and/or Side will be introduced.

Improving your dog’s ability to concentrate in an active environment will be stressed. Effective techniques will enhance the relationship that you continue to build with your dog throughout the programme.

Family Pet LEVEL 3 (6 Weeks) $158.99

Pre-requisite - successful completion of Family Pet Level 2 or equivalent

This class ensures increased reliability to cues for appropriate responses both on and off leash in a wide variety of typical life situations. Yes, your dog will be able to successfully run past and ignore a cheeseburger.

Family Pet LEVEL 4 (6 Weeks) $158.99

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet Level 3 or equivalent

This class is conducted completely off-leash. Dogs will be required to ignore and continue to work in proximity to a wide variety of difficult distractions.

Training Exercises will include:

  • Precision walking on both the left and right side
  • Drop on Recall
  • Retrieving on the flat and over low jumps
  • Individual and Group routines

Canine Confidence 1

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $349.99 + HST

Effective solutions for dogs with inappropriate behaviour directed to humans

Based on dog and human friendly techniques that utilize the latest and most effective developments in canine cognition, this programme provides a comprehensive protocol to diminish and replace inappropriate behaviour directed towards humans inside and outside the home.

On completion, you will have a better understanding of canine behaviour, what influences or triggers the behaviour and a variety of practical solutions and skills that will improve your dog’s social interaction with humans.

Enrolment is restricted to six dogs.Training will include:

  • A two hour lecture (without your dog) on canine development and behaviour to help you set realistic and achievable goals throughout the programme.
  • Effective techniques to interrupt and/or prevent high arousal and chronic stress.
  • A variety of techniques to improve your dog’s tolerance to normal human social interaction inside and outside the home.
  • Training for reliable response to applied behaviour and obedience commands.

Effective solutions for dogs displaying inappropriate behaviour directed towards other dogs

Our dog’s behaviour is moulded by many factors including but not restricted to genetics, environment, age, health and social experience. This programme gives practical and effective techniques for increasing your dog’s social skills with other dogs.

Enrolment is restricted to six dogs.Training will include:  

  • A two hour lecture (without your dog) on canine behaviour to help you set realistic and achievable goals throughout the programme.
  • Understand the role of untimely human intervention in the development of aggressive behaviour with other dogs
  • Effective techniques to interrupt and/or prevent high arousal and chronic stress.
  • A variety of techniques to improve your dog’s tolerance to normal human social interaction inside and outside the home.
  • Training for reliable response to applied behaviour and obedience commands.

Clients wishing to participate in both the Canine Confidence and Canine Courtesy during the same series may purchase the Combination Package at $474.99 +HST

Mingle and Manners

(4 WEEK PROGRAMME) $139.99 + HST**

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet - Level 1 or equivalent.

Off-leash interaction with other dogs is an essential component of developing good social skills. This programme gives an in-depth understanding of typical dog interaction and the appropriate human intervention to allow for safe and enjoyable playtime.

A well-socialized dog will be polite and not overly friendly without invitation, defuse rather than initiate conflict and give clear canine body signals that set necessary boundaries for safe social interaction. Safety may include both giving and receiving reprimands for social
infractions by other dogs. Owners will have increased ability to identify and interrupt high arousal levels that may lead to conflict. Using our unique “Gentle” cue combined with a reliable Recall, owners will enjoy the ability to allow greater freedom for your dog in off-leash
areas.

Canadian Canine Good Citizen (six week course)

$158.99 + HST

Prerequisite: Dogs should have completed Basic and be able hold a sit for approximately 30 seconds.

This class will further the skills of your dog on the road to being considered well-mannered by your friends and neighbours.

CCGC is a designation bestowed by the Responsible Dog Owners of Canada to a dog after successfully completing a set of 10 tasks. This class will help you develop and practice these skills regardless of your desire to participate in the testing process.

The skills your dog will develop in this class include:

  • polite behaviour when strangers approach
  • calm behaviour when being handled by a stranger (Eg: your vet)
  • walking politely in different scenarios
  • staying calm when left with a stranger

Out & About Level 1

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $158.99 + HST

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet 2 or equivalent.

Our dogs must learn to adapt to an increasingly complex environment. This class teaches and reinforces appropriate canine social etiquette and increases reliability to necessary obedience skills in an urban and suburban environment. The class is conducted off-site in a variety of settings that expose your dog to typical daily interactions outside the home.

Out & About Level 2

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $158.99 + HST

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet 3 or Out and About 1

During this programme, your dog will learn to navigate and utilize common obstacles such as curbs, benches, large planters in an urban or off-leash environment to improve mental and physical acuity. Think Agility using the natural environment to increase your dog’s enjoyment of its daily exercise.

My Dog Nose It

$158.99 + HST**

The six-week program will provide a basic overview of techniques for AIR SCENTING. A dog’s nose is a marvellous thing! Scent work teaches your dog to use its natural ability and provides a mutually fun and rewarding experience. Your dog is taught to find a person by locating and following the ‘scent cone’ that we all emit and to signal when the person is found. This training is an excellent way to provide both mental and physical stimulation which results in a relaxed and happy dog and a proud and happy owner. Children especially have fun hiding and being ‘found’ by their dog.

  • How your dog’s nose works
  • Finding the ‘scent cone’
  • Increasing focus and motivation
  • Techniques for successful location of a person

Rally 'O Level 1

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $158.99 + HST

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet - Level 3 or equivalent.

Encompasses and enhances all the required skills of Competitive Obedience in a fun and flexible way. Teaches you and your dog to work as a team to perform combination tasks with speed and focus. The doggy equivalent of NASCAR.

Training exercises include:

  • Right, Left, and About Turns;
  • Pivots; Spirals;
  • Pace Changes; Backward and Sideways steps
  • Increased focus and precision heeling

Rally 'O Level 2

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $158.99 + HST

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Rally ‘O’bedience , Level 1 or equivalent.

This natural progression from Rally ‘O’, Level 1 will enable you to participate in advertised and sanctioned matches for an accredited title in Rally Obedience. Feel the excitement as your dog masters the higher performance level.

Dance the night away

(6 WEEK PROGRAMME) $158.99 + HST

Pre-requisite: successful completion of Family Pet - Level 3 or equivalent

This class is a great way to have fun with your dog while you greatly expand their repertoire of cues and body positions. Working together as an individual team or group exercise, increases the dog’s confidence and ability to manoeuvre in close proximity to other people
or dogs. Choose your own music and go Viral on You Tube with your own creative performance.

Training Exercises include:

  • Play Bow; Circle Left and Right; Leg Weaves, Backward and Sideways movement and more.
  • Individual and group routines increase focus and tolerance to movement in close proximity to other dogs and people.
