TAG Dog Training & Education Centre exists as a labour of love and belief that every dog should have the opportunity to lead a happy and healthy life – for as long as we are blessed with their presence.

Cheryl Smith (Operations Manager and Program Director) has over forty years of experience in canine behavioural training and has been recognized as “one of Canada’s Top Dog Trainers”. She began as an educator working with disadvantaged children, and subsequently transitioned to a career as a Human Resources Specialist. Cheryl Smith began instructing dog obedience classes in 1972.

In 1996 Cheryl moved to the Ottawa area, and founded Forever Friends Dog Training School. Cheryl has now decided to move to the next stage of her career and has joined the TAG Dog Training and Education Centre to continue pursuing her passion.

The TAG Dog Training & Education Centre will provide services that demonstrate the following values:

Why Us?

We provide canine behaviour classes and obedience classes, using reward based methods and good management to maximize the relationship with your dog based on trust and respect.

Ottawa's newest dog training centre, was launched by Cheryl Smith in 2017 after 20 years in Ottawa as the Owner/Operator of Forever Friends Dog Training. Cheryl and her team have two main goals:

  • to assist owners in having a happy, healthy, well-mannered dog who is an integral part of a happy household
